SCHOOL RESOURCE PARTNERSHIP

In lieu of the traditional assignment of a single police officer to the school district in a general capacity as a School Resource Officer (SRO), the Hartford Police Department, in collaboration with its allied community service partners and the Hartford School District, has created a School Resource Partnership.

Through this partnership, two officers adopt a school for assignment and are responsible for meeting with school staff and attending or observing school activities during or after school hours and conducting routine patrols of the school campus.  Further, adjunct support for health and safety instruction is provided to the district by officers.
